The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the pure chamber of the subwoofer beforehand to arrive at the correct result. The net volume is calculated minus all displacements and is important when designing the enclosure.

The Ground Zero GZHW 38XSPL is a high-performance 38-cm subwoofer from the HYDROGEN series, designed for demanding car audio and SPL applications. Its robust construction combines high power handling with a long cone excursion, providing the foundation for powerful, impactful low-frequency bass at high volume levels.

To ensure the necessary mechanical stability, Ground Zero relies on a solid cast aluminum basket. The reinforced paper cone is guided by a long-throw sandwich surround and is designed for high excursion. A two-layer Polycot centering ring supports the controlled movement of the cone assembly even at high power levels.

Power is provided by a generously sized 75-mm copper voice coil. With an RMS power handling capacity of up to 1,500 watts and an SPL power handling capacity of 3,500 watts, the GZHW 38XSPL is particularly well-suited for high-performance subwoofer systems that require high sound pressure levels and powerful bass reproduction.

The subwoofer is available in two impedance variants. The GZHW 38XSPL-D1 features two 1-ohm voice coils, while the GZHW 38XSPL-D2 is equipped with two 2-ohm voice coils. This allows you to select the appropriate model based on the amplifier you’re using and the desired connection impedance
