The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the pure chamber of the subwoofer beforehand to arrive at the correct result. The net volume is calculated minus all displacements and is important when designing the enclosure.

The Ground Zero GZRW 38-D2 from the RADIOACTIVE series is a powerful 38-cm subwoofer designed for car audio systems that require deep, powerful bass and high mechanical durability. With a 1,000-watt RMS power handling capacity, a 2 x 2-ohm dual voice coil, and a large 75-mm copper voice coil, the driver provides a solid foundation for performance-oriented subwoofer setups.

The reinforced paper diaphragm combines a comparatively low diaphragm weight with the stability required for high sound levels. It is supported by a long-throw sandwich surround and a Polycot centering system. This allows the GZRW 38-D2 to produce large, controlled cone movements. The manufacturer specifies a maximum excursion (Xmax) of 50 mm.

With its low resonance frequency of 22.9 Hz, the 15-inch subwoofer is specifically designed for deep bass reproduction. The low-resonance steel basket ensures a stable mounting for the driver system. An IMPP dust cap featuring a three-dimensional Ground Zero logo visually completes the design.

The dual 2-ohm voice coils also provide flexible connection options. Depending on how the two voice coils are wired, the subwoofer can, for example, be operated in parallel at 1 ohm or in series at 4 ohms. This allows the GZRW 38-D2 to be paired with a wide range of high-power mono power amplifiers
