The GAS Audio MAX S2-12 was designed for uncompromising bass enthusiasts who demand maximum power handling and extreme volume levels. With its massive 3-inch dual voice coil, a triple HQ ferrite magnet system, and an exceptionally rigid aluminum construction, the subwoofer delivers an impressive combination of depth, precision, and sound pressure even under the most demanding conditions.

The reinforced mica-paper cone combines high rigidity with low weight, ensuring precise bass reproduction even during extreme excursions. Thanks to the sophisticated dual-ventilation technology, the voice coil remains optimally cooled even during long periods of full-load operation, which reduces power loss and improves long-term stability. This robust overall design is complemented by a double Nomex suspension with fabric reinforcement, a highly durable rolled surround, and high-quality OFC connection wires.

Whether it’s a high-performance daily-driver system or an uncompromising SPL project—the MAX S2-12D1 and MAX S2-12D2 offer enormous power reserves and form the ideal foundation for extremely powerful bass systems. Available with either a 2×1-ohm or 2×2-ohm dual voice coil for maximum flexibility in amplifier matching.

What amplifier power do I need for the GAS Audio MAX S2-12D1/D2?

For optimum performance, your amplifier should deliver at least 1,250 watts RMS at 1 ohm. The subwoofer’s MAD technology can handle up to 2,500 watts RMS, although you should choose a suitably powerful amplifier for competitions.

Is the 30cm subwoofer suitable for my car?

The GAS Audio MAX S2 requires a sealed enclosure of 28–35 litres or a bass-reflex enclosure of 40–50 litres. Measure your boot and take into account the installation depth of 17.5 cm plus the thickness of the enclosure walls.

How does the D1 differ from the D2 version?

The D1 variant has a 1-ohm dual voice coil, whilst the D2 version operates at 2 ohms. The choice depends on your amplifier configuration – both deliver identical sound quality and power.

What does the Dual Ventilation System do?

The patented ventilation system effectively dissipates heat and prevents thermal compression. This ensures that full performance is maintained even during hours of continuous use, which is particularly important at car audio events.

Can I use the subwoofer every day, or only for competitions?

Its robust construction, featuring foam suspension and dual stitching for extra durability, makes it suitable for everyday use. The IMPP diaphragm and the ferrite magnet system are designed for continuous use, not just for short performance segments.

How can I prevent distortion at high volumes?

The integrated PCW system, featuring a thicker design for optimal heat conduction, already minimises distortion. Make sure your GAS Audio power amplifier is correctly set up and use a subsonic filter set to around 25 Hz.

What accessories are included?

The package includes the subwoofer with a dust cap, connection terminals and assembly instructions. You’ll need to purchase the cables, enclosure and mounting hardware separately – make sure you choose high-quality components for the best results.
