AudioControl EPIC500

The AudioControl EPIC500 is a compact Class-D monoblock amplifier designed specifically to deliver high power to in-vehicle subwoofers. With 500 watts RMS at 1 ohm, it combines high output power with exceptionally compact dimensions. This makes the amplifier suitable for both space-saving OEM upgrades and performance-oriented subwoofer systems.

Its high current delivery capability enables stable operation down to 1 ohm. When two EPIC500 units are coupled together (strapped mode), they can deliver a combined output of up to 1,000 watts RMS into 2 ohms. The power specifications apply at a supply voltage of 14.4 V and a total harmonic distortion of less than 1%.

For subwoofer tuning, the EPIC500 offers a variable Linkwitz-Riley low-pass filter as well as an adjustable subsonic filter. In addition, EPICBoost™ enables targeted bass boost of up to 12 dB, with the center frequency of the boost adjustable between 30 and 80 Hz. This allows the bass range to be tuned to suit the subwoofer, enclosure, and vehicle.

The included ACR-E wired remote control allows you to conveniently adjust the subwoofer level from the driver's seat. Using The Epicenter Link, the amplifier can also be connected to a separately available AudioControl The Epicenter Bass Restoration Processor. The connection transmits both power and the remote signal, thereby simplifying installation.

An intelligent auto-reset protection system monitors the amplifier for, among other things, overcurrent, overvoltage and undervoltage, DC voltage at the output, and excessive operating temperatures. At the same time, sturdy screw terminals ensure a reliable connection between the power supply and the speaker wires
