B² Audio REF83 - 3 way active

The REF83 reference system from the Danish manufacturer promises enormously high-resolution sound reproduction in 3-way active mode. To exploit its full potential, it is advisable to connect it to a DSP amplifier or stand-alone DSP in conjunction with the selected amplifiers. Thanks to the flexible filter settings, extremely precise settings can be made and an absolute and an absolute listening pleasure can be achieved by adjusting the EQ and delay.

The REF8W 8-inch woofer uses a paper cone enriched with carbon fibers, this combination improves the audio reproduction enormously. The combination of paper and carbon sounds more natural and direct and gives the lower frequency ranges (<250 Hz) more warmth and precession. The cone also increases rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. Another advantage is that the mechanical limits of the loudspeaker are kept linear.

Thanks to its sophisticated design, the REF v2 Mani midrange driver enables an extremely easy connection to the REF8W woofer. The transition is possible without interfering with the frequency band. Here, the Danish manufacturer uses a combination of paper and bamboo, which increases rigidity without adding mass, enabling very direct reproduction in the midrange and clearly emphasizing vocals.

The REF V2 Mani tweeter, on the other hand, not only impresses with its unique look in an aluminum housing. Its gentle yet present high frequencies round off the overall sound image and enable an easy transition to the midrange driver. Due to their size and construction, the Mani tweeters achieve a very low resonance frequency, which significantly expands the adjustment options and the range of applications.

As the reference series was more about the relaxed, underlined look, the only logos are on the front of the grilles. However, the machined backplates still feature CNC logos.
