HiFonics Zeus Evolution Series
At the heart of the HiFonics ZEUS EVOLUTION woofers are powerful 140 mm diameter Y35 magnets that drive large 64 mm voice coils. These are ventilated with thermally efficient pole core holes. In addition, so-called "bumped" T-plates (pole plates) ensure an even longer excursion of up to +/- 17 mm (X-Max). While inexpensive woofers usually use pressed cones, the ZXE woofers rely on expensive, handmade paper cones that are double-stitched to the surrounds and are known for their particularly good sound. All these ingredients give the ZXE subs an extremely high efficiency of 92 or 90 dB at 2.83 volts/1m, i.e. the basses can achieve high volumes even at low input levels. The Thiele-Small parameters are designed in such a way that the ZXE woofers can be used to create powerful-sounding bass reflex speakers with plenty of bass, as well as medium-sized, closed cabinets. Even free-air applications are possible.
The Zeus basses also live up to the HF style visually: a newly tooled gasket, the typical HiFonics blue magnetic boat and the blue stitched surround cone seam proudly display the HiFonics brand insignia.
